I bought some longies ages ago on here. I think I bought them from Ayla, but can't be sure. They are newborn size and the wool is so soft, I'd like to get some more in bigger sizes. But I've no idea who made them. Hoping you guys can help me out.

I know Ayla doesn't post here anymore, so I can't ask her unfortunately.

They have an adjustable elastic waist. The elastic is like what you find in adjustable waist pants for toddlers, with slits along the length. And you access the elastic at the front where there is a gap where the waistband has been folded over on the inside.

Any help or suggestions of longies that are super soft is appreciated. I bought a pair of SHP shorties, but the wool is a bit to scratchy.

TIA :)

There is a longies pattern called "Ultimate Longies" that have an elastic waist band option like that. It is available on ravelry (knitting and crocheting forum).

I knitted my DS's longies in three different yarns, none of which were scratchy, Woolganics (the most gorgeous soft organic wool), warmth10 (from Celia's Basket on minicuteture), and BFL (Bluefaced Leicester). There are some other ravelry mamma's on NA and other knitters that probably know a lot more.

Are you after some preknitted or did you want to knit them yourself? It is lots of fun. There are also several mamma's that do custom knitting and some online shops that sell premade ones as well.

Thanks Spacegirl. I don't think I could knit them myself. But I suppose I could try. I know how to knit, but only basic. I'm a member on ravelry so I'll have a look.

I custom knit some for Ayla before her little boy was born, she sent me the wool and from memory it was BFL (Blue-Faced Leicester). So I reckon it would have been something like that, like Spacegirl says Woolganics is gorgeous... to get something as soft as those you will probably have to buy or get a custom knit from one of the handknitters like TanyaKnits, LittleBrownOwl and the like as they will definitely steer you in the right direction on which yarn to choose! :)
