I am thinking about buying DH bestie and his soon to be wife some art \work for their wedding pressie

He is a b\huge superman fan and has been for as long as I can remember she is a wonderwoman fan too - their invites has a gorgeous pictureof superman and wonderwoman on it and he has jsut started to get the same image tattooed on his arm as well.

I was thinking that I would\ld buy them a cool superman/wonderman painting that we could give them - I would like ti to be poster size so reasonably big but I've never even thought about buying art like this before.
Is the best place to go for something like this at a reasonably cost to search out a local artist and speak to them about it or is there somewhere else I should go?

Does this sound like a totally stupid idea? Its just these guys are amazing and we are so close to them both that a regular type of wedding pressie just doesn't seem like enough

In this case, I'd get them a personalized caricature as superman & wonder woman. But can she wear a veil or hold flowers to tie it into the wedding?

I like Safarifun's idea - that sounds awesome. Try etsy / madeit for some artists who have done similar type stuff and email them to see if they can do something for you, or even ebay. I have a few pictures I bought years ago from a uni student who was studying art and sold pics on there to make some extra cash.
