We are invited to a BBQ this weekend as my friends hubby is getting his Aussie Citizenship. It says BYO drinks on the invite but I do not know if it custom to bring something additional for him? And if so, what??

Any suggestions? Ta :)

I don't know if its customary. When a friend became a citizen they were given a gift pack of thongs, vegemite, lamingtons - just stuff that is seen as traditionally Australia (even if it's not really).

Hi, I'm Norm, brought to you by my high horse, Ned.

Hehe I did laugh out loud when I read thongs - to me they are still a type of womens underwear  and I thought "What a strange thing to give!"
But I see where you are going with that - maybe we shall do the opposite and give him some traditional UK fare (he is British too) as he seems to already have adapted quite well into Aussie life
