Hi All
I'm looking for some fabric to make DD and her cousins some coats for winter. I have a great pattern that I have used before, but I am looking for some fabric for the outer...
I was wanting to try something like a leatherette, but would like it to be really soft IYKWIM, or maybe a wool...they are both turning 3 this year, so something that is easy to clean would probably be best!
Any ideas? Links?

spotlight will be useless for that stuff.... can you get into F.Valley? try The Fabric Store in Wandoo St - they are excellent for dressmaking fabrics

there is also Scafs and Gardams - both at Indropilly (sp) that might be closer to get to for you. I think there is also Bargain Box Fabrics at Ipswich maybe - a friend is that way I'll ask her - and there is Make-It-Fabrics at Slacks Creek as well.

there are fabric shops around - you just need to scout them out!

bargain box is at 11 Darling St, Ipswich - never been there but if its like the Bargain box at Capalaba it will be pretty good - they may not have winter fabrics in yet but hopefully the staff are helpful

Ahh no leathery fabrics there, but a fantastic shop! I think I will ring around the others before heading out there, save a trip and the inevitable money that I will spend on fabric that I don't really need hehe. Like today.....oops
