We use nuttelex due to dairy and soy allergies for ds. Dh and I use butter in things that are only for us, nuttelex in shared meals.

We use margarine. I guess that's because what I grew up using. My Mum made the switch to butter when her boyfriend moved in and had a heart attack within a year. We very rarely have butter even for cooking/baking.

We use nuttlex and butter here. Had to be dairy free for a while and have stuck with it.

Nuttlex is canola / vegetable oil and I am fine with that.

Margarine is anything thats not butter and they aren't created equal. I would look at the base eg olive oil, canola etc as well as other ingredients. If it has ingredients you can't say out it back on the shelf :)

we use butter. dh prefers marg coz it's easier to spread. so we keep the butter on the bench. :) marg is foul. although nuttelex isn't too bad i guess. but still, i'd rather have the real thing for the small amount that i use.

DF has margarine, and way too much of it IMO. I use nuttelex, I used to eat marg but then my mum changed to nuttelex and it tastes SO much better, so I made the switch too.

There are great alternatives to eating either butter or margarine - healthy substitutes such as mashed avocado, hummus, and extra-virgin olive oil.

WE use some marg when our vegan friends are around, otherwise nothing! We don't really eat sandwiches, and have toast with peanut butter on it.. Use oil for cooking(usually olive oil as I try not to use much canola - weird nasty stuff it is! LOL).
