one of my friends who only eats organic yadda yadda yadda says that marg is one chemical away from being plastic - OMG right?!!!

We use nuttelex due to dairy and soy allergies for ds. Dh and I use butter in things that are only for us, nuttelex in shared meals.

i dont know anything about nuttleux sorry, i by meadow lea salt reduced for the boys and hubby and i use logical cause im a fatty

We use nuttlex and butter here. Had to be dairy free for a while and have stuck with it.
Nuttlex is canola / vegetable oil and I am fine with that.
Margarine is anything thats not butter and they aren't created equal. I would look at the base eg olive oil, canola etc as well as other ingredients. If it has ingredients you can't say out it back on the shelf

we use butter. dh prefers marg coz it's easier to spread. so we keep the butter on the bench.
marg is foul. although nuttelex isn't too bad i guess. but still, i'd rather have the real thing for the small amount that i use.

i bought an olive oil spread yesterday, really like the taste not sure if it differs much from marg though

There are great alternatives to eating either butter or margarine - healthy substitutes such as mashed avocado, hummus, and extra-virgin olive oil.

ive decided ill make some butter in thermi when this lot of marg runs out, apparently you can blend it with olive oil to make it spreadable!
