So late last night the task to prune inactive forum accounts went nuts so it seems and pruned everyone's accounts, including mine.

Not good.

I had a backup of the database (alas not as recent as I would have liked but only a few weeks old) and as it was only memberships that had been deleted, not posts the damage wasn't as bad as it COULD have been.

After consulting with the forum vendors I have restored the membership table from the backup and re-associated all the posts with their owners (this was the bit that took so long with over 1 million posts).

From here on everything that is newly created or entered should be fine, but with pre-existing stuff there are some hiccups that may or may not be able to be fixed.

Here are the ones I'm aware of.

1. PMs might be behaving a little strangely (especially with how they display)... the PMs themselves should still be there but the list of PMs might look a little odd.

*ETA* OK it appears the PMs since April 21 aren't appearing. I will have to investigate further.

2. Some users who have changed display names seem to be having some probs and MAY not be able to log in. If you can't login DONT CREATE ANOTHER ACCOUNT. Email me at dan@nappyaddicts.com.au

3. The anon system ISN'T working currently. You can reply as yourself to existing posts but anon replies and new anon threads aren't working.

4. The backup has restored the old groups people had so there are some people who have current supporter accounts that aren't appearing as supporters and others that haven't got a current supporter account who ARE appearing as supporters, will sort that out tonight.

5. If you created your account During the last week of April or anytime in May or June then I'm sorry but the account details have been lost. Please feel free to recreate it with your old username and details. If you do and you had made some posts. Please PM me and let me know so I can associate your posts (and possibly PMs) with the new account.



There may be more and if there is I'll try to keep this post updated.

I seem to be having trouble with my PM's. I have links to them and when I click on it, it says [#10229] We could not determine which message you were attempting to view

I have old PM's in Messenger, but none from the last couple of weeks. Just FYI.

You also may experience some strangeness and oddness about what is "read" and unread in both PMs and normal forum posts.

If you like you can use one of the links on the front page of the site to mark the entire forum "read" and start from scratch with just the new posts or replies.

Yep PM's are out here too, nothing since 24 April and all coming up as from "deleted member"

so will we have lost PM's? I had a pm with an address for something I was supposed to post but its gone?? and honestly I cant remember the user's name to give them a shout out, to get their address again...

For those who have lost their pms - do you get notifcations sent to another email account? I just remembered that mine go to a hotmail account, logged in and they are there - not things I have sent but anything anyone has sent me

Dan - do you think we'll get them back in the next day or two? If not I'll send new PM's to people (I just sold some clothes on the weekend and need addresses in the PM's to send off the parcels)

The PMs are there but they have to be associated to user account.

Will look into a solution.

All that will be sorted out soon. But I only have two hands and individual things like that are at the back of the queue at the moment.

Post counts have dropped back too, mine has gone down by 200 or so. Not sure if that's of any consequence though
