Just a note to everyone, that unless you've renewed your membership since they reopened, that all supporter memberships will expire tomorrow.

I've enabled a PM print/download facility for those who are supporters so if you wish to download or print your PMs all you need to do is open the appropriate PM and use the button.

If you have over 50 PMs you'll need to delete or print/download your PMs unless you renew your supporter membership.

There are monthly, quarterly and yearly subscriptions options, starting from $2 a month. Payment is via either PayPal or DD.

Memberships can be purchased from the Store link at the top of the forum. The full list of memberships available is on the lefthand side in the Site Memberships link.

Membership advantages include increased PM storage, ability to post polls, ability to both attach pictures to posts and to upload pictures to the NA server for hosting.

There will be more membership features added soon.

Just a quick question from me..

I am a little confused about what happened with the last lot of paid membership? I think I may have missed a pertinent thread or something?

I paid mine last time and set up a renewal thingo but it seemed like it all kind of dissolved... did I miss something? ( highly likely!)

Yeah you missed a thread

The previous lot of software that was handling teh subscriptions was kinda flakey.. people were cancelling their subscriptions (which was/is cool) but then the software wasn't demoting them when their time expired etc.

So a few months ago I went through and cancelled all the subscriptions through PayPal on NA's end so no-one would keep being billed.

Everyone who had a current subscription (and possibly a lucky few who didn't) has remained a Supporter since then until tommorrow.

A few weeks ago I announced that Memberships were back using a new and improved piece of software better integrated into the forum.

When I announced it I also gave people a few weeks warning that the old pre-existing supporter accounts would expire unless they were renewed with the new system by tommorrow.

Hope that explains it all.

I saw all the recent stuff about the new memberships but not the info about what had happened with the old memberships. ( well it didn't sink in at any rate)

if we get the supporter membership now, what happens when the business one comes in if we've paid for a year? just trying to work out if I should pay for a quarter or the year??

Nah the admin section has you down as payment pending (as it does for DDs which I have to approve.) So I'll be going through there before I demote everyone and checking. Those who are down as pending will get a couple of days grace, if their payment hasn't come through by then they'll be demoted.

Yeah the old membership stuff was a while ago (this new peice of sftware was delayed a bit longer than I would have liked) but I wanted to cancel it before those who had yearly subscriptions would have been renewed cause that just would have caused problems.

As long as I get enough time tonight (and nothing goes wrong) then business memberships should be availble tommorrow or in teh next day or two at the latest.

Either way the business memberships will be set up in the same way monthly/quarterly and yearly and there will be a direct upgrade path from one to the other (basically you'll pay the difference).

So if you get a supporter yearly now, you could upgrade to a business yearly whenever you liked and just pay the difference.

You won't actually lose them (until/unless you delete them yourself) but until you get back down below 50 then you won't be able to send or recieve PM's

It's not there yet. Had some problems with it.

If you sign up for a supporter now you can upgrade later by just paying the difference, so no loss.

If all goes well Business stuff should hopefully be sorted out tonight.

It's not the memberships, that's easy it's the extra features I'm having troubles with.
