Just quickly before I head to bed.

Banner ads are now available.

I'll leave the mock ads up for a couple more days so people can see the names of the slots they might want to purchase.

Will fill in more details on each of the ad packages shortly but if you're interested get in quick as there are only 10 of each available.

To purchase your ad click on the Store link in the navigation bar at the top of the page and go to the Site Ads section.

If you have any questions regarding advertising on the site please let me know and I'll do my best to answer them.

Prices range between $10 and $40 a month depending on where you want the ad to appear.

The prices being shown are currently base prices, they will be tweaked (both up and down) over time based on popularity, effectiveness and other metrics that we'll be measuring. We'll also be adding in certain discounts for loyalty, bundling and membership level. They will all adjust the base price and the system is set up to give you the cheapest price based on whatever criteria gives you the biggest discount. The beauty of the system is that it shows you the price you'll pay taking all the discounts into account. So you don't have to go along and calculate the discount as you go.

It's currently monthly renewal. I didn't want to offer any longer until I've had a chance to make sure there are no issues with the system etc. Means I'm not taking 3 months worth of money and then having to refund a chunk of it if something goes pear shaped. But purchasing for longer periods is definitely on the cards.

As it stands now once you purchase the ad slot as the month approaches the end another invoice will be generated for you (you'll be emailed about it) and you just go into the client area and pay the new invoice. At the moment whilst it's month to month in lieu of longer term discounts if the system is working correctly there should be a discount applied to the renewal cost. If you reach the end of the month and you haven't paid the invoice the ads stop displaying and if a few days after that you still haven't paid the invoice it automatically expires.

Can you explain the various ad options and where exactly this places the ad on the forum? Which ads will show on the New Post display and do some only show when someone actually goes into a specific forum heading and not on "new posts"

Mum to 4, nearly wife to Mr Fee and maker of Top End Tush modern cloth nappies.

listed in order of priority

lol Bugger I knew someone would ask..

I had (well have actually) an image which shows all the placements etc. But it's turned into a real production getting it to make sense and make it clear what each position is ;)

So I've been slack and putting it off.

At least you asking will get me off my arse.

I'll have a stab at it tommorrow but I'm only on the netbook cause the fuckers still haven't laid our carpet (supposed to be done Tue) so if not tmw then certainly later in the week when I get back ona real machine and full size monitor.

Sorry about the hassles.
