I have done this before and NO amount of machine rinses got all the gel crap off for me.. I had to hand rinse everything under running water

I did a load yesterday and didnt notice that Will had put one of his Thomas books in the machine
Went to get the washing out and its like I had a box full of tissues in there

i put a tissue in today accidently and there was a microfibre cloth in there that picked it all up. Neat trick!

I think it only took one extra wash to get it off most things.
On a slightly different note, when DS was little, I left DH in charge one night and he put DS to bed in a swim nappy.
They DEFINITELY don't absorb liquid!!!!
