I am so sore from nursing and of course, being me, ignored the signs and just thought poor attachment. This morning I didn't even want to nurse. I don't want her near me. She has bumps on her lips but not really noticeable in her mouth. But my right nipple is white. So I am admitting defeat and saying we have Thrush again. Argh!! I don't think I've ever had so many problems with any of my other babies. She seems to amplify everything LOL. Instead of a mild infection after birth like with the boys, I get a rare flesh eating bacteria. Now instead of mild grazing, I have had this twice. Anyway - anyone have any proactive solutions I can try after we kick this again, to maybe prevent it from re-occuring a third time?
TIA for your help :)

Have you tried Inner Health Plush for you and her? Also the daktarin gel works well, you don't need a script for it either I don't think. I would steer clear of Nilstat, waste of time I think. My ds had it but he was bottle feeding at the time so I had to replace all teats etc, so can't help you with the breast side of things. Natural yoghurt helps as well. I am sure someone else will have a better answer for you.

(((hugs))))
i had SO many issues with DS, he didnt open his mouth properley, I had so many 'proffesionals' trying to help me, i was sore, peeling, grazed and cried when he cried for feeding i was in so much pain, we also had thrush for 5 mths almost continously, it was horrid.
I went on many sites and used to rinse with vinegar (ouch) and wipe after every feed and before, sat with them dipped in live yoghurt, used the thrush stuff, we went to see a paed who said the not opening mouth was prob related to the constant thrush :(
We finally got rid of it doing all the old wifes tales and me taking the oral strong medication whilst he was on the drops.
it took a long time but we got there so sendign you huge hugs I know how depressing it is..
we got a lot of info from here
http://www.kellymom....-resources.html

but then googled the rest and found all sorts of 'cures' and we tried most.

You need this!!!

The other probiotics on the market don't target as many bacteria, this is awesome, it was the only thing that god rid of our recurring thrush. I gave it to DD by giving her 1ml 3x a day.

Thanks for all the info ladies. I bought nilstat before I saw the posts LOL. I have daktarin and if it doesn't go away after this round I'll start branching out. Bookmarking all the sites now. She hasn't wanted to feed since 8am. I tried feeding her at 10 but she didn't even get a let down. She sleeping now so hopefully when she wakes up she'll want something. She'll only eat solids so at least she's getting something.
