SO last night i woke up with pains in the middle of my chest, and it was a little hard to breathe, you know when you first start working out, and you arn't all that fit, and you struggle to breathe, that was how it felt.

still have the shortness of breath, and pains in my chest, it's not debilitating or anything like that, just uncomfortable.

any ideas?? I'm not asthmatic, wasn't doing anything physical, i am overweight, but not huge or anything! hmmm....

Hmm... don't you have your house inspection today? Anxiety perhaps? If it's still there in a bit I'd suggest popping down to the hospital and getting them to give you a quick check.

Was it sharp stabbing pain, or dull, deep aching pain (like someone was sitting on your chest?)

Did you have any pain or discomfort anywhere else? Stomach? Back?

Can you describe how it feels when you try to take a deep breath in?

Are you pregnant?

Sorry to hear you're feeling unwell!

Nom, you must be thinking of someone else, we own down here ;)

it was dull, like someone sitting on me, but it is getting worse, i have had a sore back and AF is almost due, but neither are giving me much discomort at the moment.
when i take a deep breath it's like something is constricting my chest, does that make sense?

oh yes, should have said not preggers! lol (well, dont think so, will find out in a few days LOL)

It is similar to the shortness of breath at the end of pregnancy

it is a bit sharp on the deep breathes, gosh im not much help am i?!

Nope, thinking of you - your building inspection ;) Or was that yesterday? I've lost track of time lol

As for the pregnancy thing - I feel as tired and out of breath now as I did when I was full term with Bay - it's knocked me for six to be honest. That and I already look about 4 months pregnant, it's completely different.

Do you have any pins and needles or tingling sensations anywhere on your body, or any weakness of muscles?

If you have no cause to be anxious, or do not suffer from an anxiety disorder, and you do not believe it to be referred pain from your back, then I really would suggest you go straight to the nearest A&E department, and tell them on arrival that you are experiencing chest pain and shortness of breath/difficulty breathing. Tell them that it feels like somebody is sitting on your chest.

This will bring you up on the priority list and you should be seen quickly.

Hope that helps...

(I'm not meaning to scare you - I just think that you really should go and get checked out, what you are describing could be a number of things, but it also could by symptoms of a heart attack, or a blockage.)

Does the pain radiate around your back/shoulder blades at all?? What your describing sounds similar to how i would feel when i had a gall bladder attack

no tingling, no other symptoms that i can think of,

i dont want to go up there and seem stupid though

i can still breath, just what i explained above. I would have no choice but to go to a&e, as the wait to see a doc in our town is around 3 weeks min.

hmmm....

i mean AF should be due today or tomorrow, could it be ANYTHINg to do with that? oh geesh, lol.

Hmmm I never got neck pain with my attacks - just around the mid and lower back area.

I think its worth going to a&e to get checked out, thats what they are there for!!

I'd call the Nurse on Call,

I know what you mean, I always wonder if I'm being stupid before heading off to the hospital.

I can't think of any more questions to ask, if you don't want to go straight to AandE, I'd definitely give Nurse on Call a go, they'll be able to direct you where to go from there :)

Hope you're feeling better soon :)

If you have some severe back pain, it could be a side-effect of that, When I put my back out, I often can't breathe properly as my ribs hurt too much.... but this doesn't sound like what yu have described...

Take Care, Let us know how you go
