Not sure if this is the right place but hey!!!!
DD has really bad nappy rash, the worst ever. she very red and had started to get blisters looks like chaff but worse poor baby.. she will hardly let me wipe her. Ive been using amcal nappy rash cream and went to the chemist yesty and got some cream, can't think of what its called, but a nappy rash cream with something to help fungal infections. but it doesn't seem to be working that well iv heard of using corn flour with nappy rash cream??? any advice on what to use and do?? its been there for 3days. poor baby i hate seeing her like this

She could have an allergy to a material in the nappies. What nappies do you use? Some babies have allergies to all synthetic materials and some only Suedecloth or microfleece.

Thats something i hadn't thought of.... mainly terry squares but been using them since she was born. Have also got bout 12 MCN different brands, but ive been using them for ages and she never had a prob. will think about it more...thanks!!

I use bepanthen. It's not cloth friendly but it works, I put it on with either a sposie or nappy free.

Lana gets terrible nappy rash when she teeths and I've found a paste of cornflour every change to get the initial redness down (you can mix with weak camomile tea instead of water for added soothing) then we use medi honey and curash.

You'll have to play around and find what works for you, but a lot of the time, the only thing that will help is lots of nappy free time.

What do you mean by a paste of cornflour??? do you mix cornflour with water?? it seems to be getting a bit better so thats good.

I swear by paw paw ointment! Clears it up everytime....and great for dribble rash too....

I use plain cornflour - just dust it on after each nappy change or if DS has had nappy free time I put it on once I put a nappy back on.

I use pawpaw ointment too but only at night.....but normally the cornflour clears it up - we've never had to get any actual nappy rash creams
