grinding teeth

I was just wondering if anyone has had the same problem my 7 month old little boy has his two bottom teeth and the two top two just pushed through he is grinding them together really bad it sounds terrible i give him teethers and heaps of things to chew on but he still does it could it be bad for his teeth?:)

My dentist has reassured me it's normal for children up to 5-8 years old to grind their teeth. They believe they grind them to relieve the pressure in their jaw/mouth as new teeth are coming in. He said not to worry about damage unless they continue after they have adult teeth.

ugghh my ten month old does this too, its horrible!!

I'm sure you'll find it very common in young bubs when they first get teeth, the whole exploring thing. Both mine did it, once the novelty wore off, they stopped:)

Yep, mine did it too! She got bored of it, but in the mean time I gave her a rusk or cracker to chew on instead :)
