a way that doesn't involve going to the drs (as if i would get an appt today sigh)

i was naughty and tried a cotton bud tip and i've just made it more blocked.

is there anything from the chemist i can get that will clean it out without needing a script?

i don't know if i am up to driving a long distance to track down an ear candle either

any ideas?? thankyou!

Fern on Dan's machine, he had this thread open and I saw it :)

Warm olive oil in your ear, just a few drops, lie on your side for an hour or so and then tilt your head over a bowl so it all goes out into it, I have a lot of ear problems and this always works for me, it was also recomended by our ENT doctor as being the least invasive method of getting rid of wax and blockages.

the warm olive oil will do the trick and at the chemist you will find an ear syringe. BTW this is NOT for sucking stuff out, it is for rinsing. It is like a normal 10ml syringe with a pointy triangle thingy on the end which direct the water out its 3 corners. So after you have softened the wax with the olive oil you gently place the tip of the water or saline filled syringe in your ear and press down. The 3 streams are designed to rinse the ear out without pushing water into the ear too far. Sounds a bit dangerous but it isn't, perfectly safe and works really well.
