I had the implanon put in yesterday (yay happy dance for no more unexpected pregnancies, ROFL!!!)...
Yep that is good, but the bad part is that my arm is ACHING and soooo painful, is this normal? How long does it last? I thought it was meant to be 'mild discomfort' not pain that even panadeine can't touch...
Any thoughts appreciated!

the pain will go in a couple of days, i had 1 in for 2 years, then another for 2 years between kids and they are sooo worth it! i ended up getting my tubes tied after #4 but so wish i had of just got the implanon again instead...much better on AF side of things even though i got af while having the implanon anyway, just not as heavy as now!

yup the ache stays around for a few days!! I used a heat pack.

Its great if you don't get the crappy side affects.

Good luck with it! Hopefully it works for you with no side effects.. I had heaps of yucko ones and had to get it removed.. twice.. and it left a good 3cm scar and needed stitches! hehe

I dont remember mine being sore at all, but maybe all the yucky side effects I put up with for three months were worse then the pain, so I just dont remember lol

hope it works for you, and that the pain settles soon

mine was only sore for a day or two, and not overly sore, as long as i didnt poke it lol.

i had crap side effects this time around, mood swings, weight gain, but its been 3 months now and the side effects are gone :D

I had a fair amount of pain but only when using my arm or touching the implant site, no pain if just resting. I had massive bruising. I would say that it is fine but if you are worried just give the receptionist at your Dr's a ring and ask their advice. Can't hurt to get it checked out just in case.

Thanks everyone :)
The bruise is starting to go and the pain has reduced a little bit. I have my fingers crossed about not getting the size effects also.
