I use cloth 100%, even on holidays. Although we went to QLD for 10 days mid last year I used sposies for that time.

With my older two kids I used cloth at home and sposies out, but that was terry flats.

100 % cloth here too, even when on holiday. I have like half a pack of sposies sitting here somewhere left over from when we switched nearly a year ago...probably wouldnt even fit him now!

We're cloth all the way all the time except for one terrible week last winter when I couldn't get the nappies dry enough in rotation so I sent some into day care a few times. I was sorely tested with night nappies early in this pregnancy because changing the night nappy in the morning was making me vomit but I managed, just.

Nooooooooo Way!!!!

I'm a total cloth snob ;) I don't understand why people see it's such a big deal - it's so freaking easy they should all be doing it :P

I've been on several weekend trips, week-long trips, and 5 weeks overseas on holiday with cloth. Never had dramas. ;)

I am the same, but I haven't been on a 5 week holiday.. I wish lol

i really REALLY don't see why people say it's harder... er... you change the bum same as a sposie, and throw it in a bucket. Spend an extra 5 minutes a day to wash and hang them... HOW is that harder??

More like people are just lazier when they go away ;)

I've begun using them occasionally overnight for my bigger kids (never Forrest, he's never worn one), but i've had 3-4 kids in night nappies for five years now-i'm getting a bit over night nappies! We use about 6 disposables a week I suppose.

"it's so freaking easy they should all be doing it"
In suburbia, yes! But we're on solar power only and it's wet season so we get low on power, and I only have a twin tub washer which is a bitch to use. And definitely no dryer.

Im having to use Disposables at night cos night nappies just dont work here with me, I have 2 GF nights and they still seem to leak, and DS even goes through 2 sposies over night, if he doesnt wake for a bottle half way through the night 99% of the time his bedding will be wet in the morning :(
I usually only use huggies but have decided to try the pampers as they say 12 hours so will see in the morning if they're good or crap lol

We use cloth 100%. A sposie has not touched his bum since we went full time when he was 5 weeks old. He is 4 months old now. I still have a full packet plus another half a packet of crawler size nappies under the change table that we never used cause he grew into the cloth ones we had.

We use huggies pullups on addy for night, we needed something slimline, that could hold her massive wees if she did an accident and that she an easily pull up and down at night, I feel horrible using them but others just wouldn't contain her wee wees. If she wasn't tted we would still be using Envoys of a night though

Yes we do for both DD and DS. Our stash is still small, so not enough to go full time yet. Both kids wear them overnight as we don't have any night naps and not sure when that will happen.

The last time Abbey had a sposie on, she was just over 1 month old, and I cannot see that changing anytime in the near future.

If I am ever lucky enough to have another child I will attempt to put them in cloth from day 1.

Since DD went into cloth full time, the only sposies she's used were about 3 when DH changed her before he got the hang of MCNs and occasionally when she goes to Grandma's.. but my mum is happy to cloth DD when she sleeps over at her house. We still have some sposies for her at home, but they don't get used and I think she'll grow out of them soon..

We were using sposies for DS (nearly 4) for night time only, but we used the last one in the packet 4 days ago and I just made him wear jocks instead and just before I go to bed (and if I get up through the night) I take him to the toilet for a wee and put him back to bed. So far, no wet bed. But I'm sure it can't be that easy! ;)

But so far, I haven't bought *any* sposies since DS's last packet ~2 months ago.. and I don't plan to buy any anytime soon..

When we go up to Exmouth next month for my BIL's wedding we will cloth it... but so far we haven't travelled anywhere that I don't have laundry facilities available..

The only time I use sposies is if DD has a nappy rash. For some reason it gets worse when in cloth :(

She is teething atm so we have been in sposies for nearly 2 weeks with a 3 days in cloth but it returned......

We use disposables at night (even though I have several night MCN for DS) as we use a 'respisense' monitor and cloth is too thick to clip it onto his nappy and hold it flat against his tummy to work :( Once the monitor goes so will the sposies!

I know a lady that uses cloth but when they go anywhere they use dispoables. Cloth is just for home. I thought it was a great idea untill i switched to cloth. I didnt see why i couldnt use cloth while out also (we havent stayed away anywhere else but home overnight i might add) So how often do you end up using sposies?

i use cloth full time when out and about and away, we never go away for that long without being able to wash to need to buy sposies though.
i found a couple os old sposies in the cupboard a couple of months ago so thought i would give them a go, i forgot how gross they were and all squishy when used *blergh* bless cloth.
i cant bring myself to buy sposies now anyway, seems a waste of money plus i could buy another cloth for the price of a pack of sposies lol.

Like many of the girls sposies are used at our house at night. Have tried a couple of night naps but they haven't been very successful. My little man is a weeing machine. Usually go through 2 huggies!

DD is in sposies atm - blergh!!! Poor thing was screaming, and I mean screaming, all afternoon yesterday for over an hour because her poo was so acidic it burnt the bejeebus out of her bott. She's now in sposies with Sudocream lathered on so the skin can heal. They are soooo gross.... Before this though, she hadn't worn one for months. I've got new nappies here I want to get on her so hopefully tomorrow will bring a happier bottom :)

I only have 10 MCNs which is JUST enough if I wash everyday and hang them first thing in the morning. I get lazy though and therefore run out of nappies and use sposies.

My incentive is every fortnight I don't have to by a box of sposies - I put $30 towards increasing my stash.

I don't use them at all but we are going overseas next week and I am agonising about using cloth/sposies. I was given a Huggies nappy cake when DD was born and we have used the occasional one (when she's had a rash etc) so there's still heaps left. I was also given a packet of someone's leftover nappies...funny how people give a full-time cloth user sposies  Anyway, so I've got these sposies and with the trip looming.... the issues are 24hr plane trip with a hotel at the end (no idea about washing facilites yet). For the first 5 days we will be in the hotel, then 10 days in an apartment so I should be able to use cloth then......I have packed 10 SS pockets which take up quite a lot of room. Ahhh I don't know. I hate the idea of using sposies for 2.5 weeks but maybe it's the most practical thing to do. Any experience?

Peace - I would use sposies on the plane and then take some as backup. I bought some for our trip north when we moved as everyone kept telling me I wouldn't have time to wash, should enjoy the big trip with the kids yada yada yada... I ended up using 1, I think because we're in the habit of using them it isn't such a big deal - but still, it would probably be a good idea to have some for those big days out.

We were using them at night as he was really bad when teething and his poor bottom was so sore. I had a twinkle lily night nappy delivered yesterday so we'll be giving that a go tonight. If that doesn't work then I'll go back to sposies for over night, the sad fact is that he wakes a lot more often with cloth than in a sposie - and that means he gets sick quicker as well, I was amazed at how much "brighter" he was after just a few days of good sleep in sposies, he's a chirpy kid anyway so I hadn't really given it much thought.

Thanks and I think you're right - I will take the cloth but plan to use the sposies for the trip over and until I figure out washing facilities. I'd hate to find myself without cloth if I could easily use it.

Hmmmm DD has always been a difficult sleeper at night, but I never considered it might be the cloth!! I might have to try a few nights in sposies

we used sposies when we arrived here as we had no wash facilities or home :D
when my machine arrived we went back to cloth.
We recentley had to use them again as DS had a nasty open sore on his bits that would not heal despite different AB creams so the doctor told us to use sposies to keep him as dry as possible as leaving the nappy off wasnt working as he just kept scratching it so we used them for a week and still occasionally use them at night to use up the ones we have when the area with the sore which has now healed looks red (still seems to have a red mark?)
