DS has had spots that started on his tummy and have spread to face and legs now. He also has a temp and swolen eyes.

Wed 10th - MMR vaccine
Sat 13th - Temp 38.5 and some spots.
Mon 15th - Doctors still temp & more spots Dr said Virus as it is too early for MMR reaction.
Fri 19th - Doctors - still not well spots are fading on tummy but now on face, low grade temp still of 37.5 Dr did not know what it is, but said she can not test for measles as he has had the MMR and that is all it would show, she though it was still a virus, said it is very rare that they can get measles from the MMR vac.
Mon 22nd called health line as he is still unwell and eyes are all swollen and red. Said that if he continues etc to see GP.

So i am getting a bit sick of taking him to the Dr but he is still not well, off his food cranky etc. Temp is gone and the spots have cleared on his tummy put are still on his face.

Has anyone had this reaction from MMR or had a child that has had measles? What would you do?

the only reaction mine have had was slight rash/slight temp

the swollen red eyes doesn't sound good though, maybe you should take him to a different doctor

Id def seek another opinion too.
People get various reactions from Immunisations all the time, some much worse than others.
Hope he feels better quickly.

When had a really bad spots all over her I took her to the childrens hospital, if they think it's somethig serious thell look straight away because Ava looked funny with all the spots and we only waited half and hour.
When u press on them do they dissapear and come back or do they just stay there ?

When you press they go white then back to red, it looks exactly like the measles rash when you google it, its not heat rash as DD get that behind her knees when we are in the car on hot days. If he is not better tomorrow i will take him to a new dr as we are going on holidays on Friday. I hope it is not contagious as we have been to playgroup etc.

My son had Measles a couple of months back (although the GP doubts it) our friend saw his pic and reckoned it was definitely measles. He was the sickest I have ever seen him. Lethargic, dripping with sweat temps of 40c that would come down to 39 with panadol for an hour or so then go back up. Slept pretty much all day and night, on about day 3 I think it was he started itching. We gave some polaramine to relive the itch and the spots. It went down slightly was less itchy and inflamed looking then.

Egg allergy?? Roseola (unusual on the face though)? Dunno... sounds suspicious - but it would be strange indeed. Chicken pox? Have they gone blister like and crusted over at all?
