So we went to the ENT specialist today with Mackenzie. He takes one look at everything and goes "whoa- huge tonsils and adenoids....fluid not draining from the ear...." and he booked us in for a hearing test. Once we get the results from that he will chat to us about taking the tonsils and adenoids out and putting grommets in her ears. He suspects she pobably doesnt have asthma as the chesty winter cough she gets could be caused by her gunky adenoids, as could her reflux!
The only thing he is concerned about is timing of the surgery cause he doesnt want the possibility that her eyes will need an op in the 6 months following the ENT op! aargghhhh!
I know its good we are finally getting answers but seriously- how much does one child have to go thru?!
*sigh*

gosh how hard..
Though I do have to say, I have unusually large tonsils, and it causes heaps of problems for me - I wish I could elect to get them out right now..

Ugh.
I didn't know large tonsils etc could cause reflux, might be something for us to look into for Caleb's reflux as he has a very narrow throat area. Any slight throat infection causes him to get croup.
anyway im glad you are getting some answers, what a relief. There was a lady I met a few months ago through a friend whose now teenage children had severe reflux as youngesters and they had to have major surgery removing half their stomachs :s THAT SCARES ME.

I want to have mine removed in the next 2 years. Theres nothing worse than food getting stuck in the folds of your tonsils, and having to manually remove it :) LOL *vomit*
