I was just reading another post about teething. DD isn't there yet, but I want to be as aware of alternatives as I can be. We have HTT in the cupboard already, but a few people have mentioned amber teething necklaces.

Are they safe? Do the beads ever fall off? Have you ever sent your kidlet to daycare with it?

We love ours, I noticed a huge improvement in Brock dribbling within half a day of having his on. I got 1 of ours from www.amberbede.com (this is an Aus site) or you could try ebay or http://hyenacart.com.../index.php?c=19 (but this is a US site). May sure that you get Baltic amber and that the beads/chips are individually knotted. They are designed so if they break the beads or chip don't become a choking hazard and that the clasp breaks when it's pulled too hard. I leave Brock's on 24/7

Scarlett has had one for teething since she was 5 months old, got her first tooth at 6 months. I swear by them.
When I know she is teething the necklace goes on first thing in the morning and stays on til bed time. I don't need to give her anything else for pain relief if she has her necklace on.

We got our latest one from Selkie Designs, beautifully made and designed in Australia.

My oldest 2 (5yo and 3yo) wear them 24/7
TBH I have no idea if they work. They have been wearing them for about a year.

DD#3 (11 months) has got one coming in the mail.

I'm not really sure if they work, but I figured that it certainly couldn't hurt. We got DS's from http://www.sunshinen...egory.php?SC=12

It is to do with the succinite being absorbed through the skin and helping with pain. It will not stop any of the other symptoms. I bought some from amber bebe recently and S who is getting his molars has stopped asking for band aids in his mouth and the worlds grumpiest baby reverted back to the worlds happiest baby, albeit awash in a puddle of his own dribble. I have been stringing the kids necklaces together and wearing them when they sleep and realised after a couple of days my headache was lessened, not gone but lessened (constant headaches is another story) and I have also had some issues with blocked milk ducts and engorgement and again the edge was taken off. So I have busted out a pretty Valerio 888 (it is baltic amber) necklace I have and have been wearing that and have ordered a necklace for myself from amber bebe.
