Well I took Declan to the Doctors on Friday for his 6 month needles and check.
Since he has born his testies spend most of their time inside and only come out occasionally (the left is worse than the right). We have been referred for an ultra sound which we will be getting done in the new year and there was talk of surgery to bring them down and stitch them in place.
I guess I just want to hear stories from others who have been through this. Just so I can prepare myself. If you don't want to discuss it on the board I am happy for you to pm me.
Aparrently this sort of thing runs on DHs side of the family. Of three boys in his family (including himself) all 3 had problems but only 1 ended up having the op.

Hudson has 1 undecended, which has never come down, he needs the surgery. I mentioned it to my doc about a year ago that it never comes down, so he had an U/S in Jan just to make sure that it was there, of normal size and no blockages, it was all ok, it just doesnt want to come down. He had an appt with the consultant last month as its still not down and hes getting closer to the 2yr mark, and because the teste hasnt even come down, the scrotum hasnt grown, so now even if it wanted to come down, it couldnt :/ sooo, he has an appt next month (which i need to move as we wont be here) to see the surgeon to discuss whats gonna happen. im not sure if it will be the straightforward pull down and stitch that normally happens, because of the scrotum issue.
But as far as the u/s goes, just make sure you take him a toy to play with, as its likely to be just a normal sonographer who isnt necessarily used to dealing with kids so small in an area where they wriggle so much. It took ages to do hudsons as he wouldnt keep still (he was 9 months) and the sonographer was getting really grumpy with him as she couldnt get a clear picture.
anyway hth a bit and good luck with it, try not to stress about it, its only an u/s and if you know that they do come down sometimes, its very unlikely he'll need the op.

That would be great if you could let me know Kara.

Hey Kara - How did the ultrasound go??
Since we have stopped using his D'lishs I have noticed they are down most of the time now. So it looks like I will be selling off all of my Ittis and getting another brand instead - probably Nic naps!!

Hmmm thats weird!
Sorry i forgot!
The ultrasound went really well, she said he did extremely well and laid really still, some parents have to physically hold them down to get it done.
It took her around 10-15 mins but she was good and was talking to him. Everything looks fine in there no obstructions or anything so we now have a referal to a uroligist.
