Hi

For those of you using sposie's overnight on an older bub, what do you use? I have tried most MCN night nappies and Ella either finds them too bulky or the wetness gets to her.

We have been using the woolworths select brand since 6 months overnight and never had a leak. The last few nights she has been damp on the outside cos the nappy is so full after 9hrs (we used to get 12-13hrs). Nothing has changed drinking the same amount, nappy goes on right before bed, she has started requesting a drink early hrs of the morning but I always change her nappy at this time cos I know that she won't last with the extra drink and the same nappy.

We changed from huggies at that point because she was leaking within 6hrs. Babylove gives her a rash. I always try to keep a size ahead as well for night naps so she is roughly 10kg and in the 8-15kg size.

Do the boys have more absorbency in the front? She is a tummy sleeper. Can you boost disposables somehow?

Sorry for all the questions, hoping for some sleep soon  :)

Heya,

When lex was little he wore a sposie with a fleece tot bots cover every night.

now hes in toddler snugglers.
for us they are the best sposies... love the price too got 66 for $22 ! yay.
lol! i buggered huggies off they are way to expensive and he wet through EVERY night.

Lex is a tummy sleeper - i do his nappy up tight cause once hes laying down it trickles forward. many a night of wet tummies.

i think hes about ready to move up to the next size! gah i just bought a new bag yesteday :S

not much help sorry!

Before Sam was tt at night he used to be a really really heavy wetter overnight. I tried cloth and all different brands of sposies. They all leaked.

In the end I put TWO disposables, yes two at the same time on him. psml........ AND a fleece cover over the top. And we still sometimes got leaks!

I was only just beginning my MCN discovery at this point in time though so didn't fully know what was out there in the way of cloth.

What cloth have you tried overnight?

Hope you discover a solution, there is nothing worse than a damp child waking up overnight.......

Huggies always leaked at night for us once she was bigger- we used Aldi Mamia. I would chuck a pair of woolies over the top to catch any possible leaks when we had to use huggies instead. Aldi ones where much more absorbant imo and even less rashes than the huggies ;)

the times we've used sposies i liked babylove the best. Snugglers weren't a great fit, huggies leaked, and Mamia would come undone on their own..

we have tried Zada, WCDN, Wrigglybumz, GK's. I can't get Ella to sleep in anything bulky, the Zada was the only thing she went to sleep in. She woke 6 hrs laters and was damp. I hear snoozywuns are all right, but I had been sticking to sposies cos I knew they worked.

We have just swapped to Aldi ones for overnight too, Mackenzie wakes up with no damp bum like she had with huggies! we still have to put terry training pants over the top though cause she's a side sleeper and her pj's get damp.

yep heaps cheaper to buy a few pairs of training pants than actual cloth covers. I have 7-8 pairs, all from best and less! they were only about $4 each.

Thanks guys, sadly we don't have an aldi down here in Tassie. I might have to try babylove again and use a cream each night. I also like the idea of the training pants over the top.

I'm not much help, I swear by Huggies, nothing else works for him because he is a super heavy wetter. Never had  a leak with them, except when he was newborn before i learnt to make sure that he was pointing down and not up.

We don't use sposies but my neighbours boy was out weeing his (wet from neck down to toes) and I just made her a large bamboo trifold (well actually its almost a prefold as it is a trifold with 2 layers of bamboo with an extra layer of microfibre in the middle) which she puts in his sposie and that seems to be doing the trick for them. I'd probably also put woolies on over the top (but then I put woolies over all of La's night nappies just in case).

i have tried all the brands with both madi and aiden and came right back to huggies, never had a leak with them..... i even tried the aldis ones which i thought were to stiff... she could hardly move in them.

i havnt read replies but i have a n answer for ya...

i use the normal wolies homebrand - just the red and white packet ones. AWSOME! huggies are great too.
and yes you can boost sposies. there are some things (cant remember what they are called dammitt- i will look when i go shopping tomorrow) but they are in the aisle with the nappies, often near the liners etc..they are (were) in a yel;low packet and i think they were by bebe or something like that. they are basically just a pad...they have an adhesive strip that sticks to the nappy and helps boost them.

good luck!

Aldi disposables are great! Highly recommend them if you need some samples I could send you some.... to try and perhaps send some in a tough bag to you if need be whenever you need them. I also liked the Dymples brand in Big W but I dont think they sell them anymore but they were fab and great value too!
Huggies are fairly good, Snugglers weren't for my boys just leaked through all the time. The ones from Pharmore chemists in the yellow packet were fab too (I cant think of the brand now too late at night).

You could try putting Dry Pants/training pants over the top of the disposable but then it gets too expensive I would just buy some cheap ones and put two on for night time. You can buy training pants in bulk I get mine for $43 per 100 plus $10 post.

When I used sposies, the only disposables that ever lasted the distance at night on my kids were huggies and I tried EVERY brand known to man.

Hi ladies,

I have the same issue with Grace with having to use sposies at night, she just wees thru all my cloth nappies and if I boost too much she ends up looking like and Umpa Lumpa....LOL. I just love, love, love Aldi. Never had a leak, so nappy rash and a touch dry bum in the morning after 12 hours. A friend had the same issue as you and she went up a size in the Aldi nappies to what her bubs wore as a day nappy and this seemed to help.

Oh how I wish we had Aldi....

Solved my issues going up a size in nappies, and it was only temporary cos she has returned to normal now.

hey mel,
Id just put a cover over top, thats what we did when aislinn was peeing heaps , she went through a phase where she would pee through stuff and sometimes I still change her twice at night
snoozywuns work really well for us and are definitly not bulky its what ive resorted to atm but some nights I still change twice

My boys out wee almost everything.  Snoozys and Zadas are working for S with some overflow on occasion but not too much (less than a sposie and we have tried them all).  H was the biggest wetter and he is 5 1/2 so not much about in the way of cloth night nappies when he was little.  We tried lots of things and wound up using nappy mates in his sposies (kind of like a pad and for sale in the nappy section) and a cover it meant he was wet to his belly button instead of his armpits.  Little O is just 6 weeks old and already out weeing most nappies.  I think I am in trouble with this one.

I have found the Naturenappies the best. They are also meant to be more biodegradable. Slightly expensive but ok when you only need 7 per week.

I have been using ecobots for overnight at the moment but I have so far had two occasions where they have leaked a little up the front so i don't know if they are coping with the time overnight very well.  I will go back to the Nature ones i think.

We have been using the amcal brand disposables and they have worked really well for ds.  Huggies didn't work for us once he was out of the newborn ones.

I have read about these on Simple savings.  I think they are called absorbers and are from woolies.
